16 Reviews to Manly Beach, New South Wales, Sydney

  1. kev shah says:

Great spot to easily access the beach. Short walk to Shelley beach which is good for swimming and kids. Also a good place to take a walk up to the heads to see if you can spot whales (and there is a nice cafe at the top)

  2. Christine Savage says:

    We love Manly Beach!
We love walking and swimming from Manly to Shelly. The snorkeling is great at Shelly beach also. Manly has great markets on the weekends too!

  3. Cheah KM says:

Quiet beautiful beach which is easily reached by ferry. There is one part of beach which is a bay and enclosed so it is safe to swim. Went there during weekday, therefore it is not so crowded. The ferry ride was fantastic as we can take good photos of Sydney Opera house and the Harbour Bridge together.
Reachable by Manly Fast ferry, Sydney Ferry Services or Captain cook ferry.

  4. Chang Deng says:

Arrived late caused by google’s misguiding route to the ferry Wharf 3 (it is just next to the train station!) so I only got to see the manly beach at dusk. Even though, it is a beautiful and peaceful place, which is like a smaller version of the Gold Coast.

  5. Jyoti Patel says:

Calm beautiful beach which is easily reached by ferry. I did not swim but saw many swimmers in the bay area. The ferry ride was fantastic. Plenty clear views of Sydney Opera house and the Harbour Bridge. Great photo opportunity.
Reachable by Manly Fast ferry, Sydney Ferry.
We walked over to Shelly Beach. Plenty hiking trails with awesome piture opportunities. After the initial easy to moderate rough terrain, most of the trails are flat with few steps and very well maintained. Beautiful plants, birds and flora aling the trails. Wish had more time to enjoy the trails

  6. maher ch says:

Lovely beach with the walking side and the market just very nice to walk there and enjoy the view .
    The issue is the parking
As you have 2 hours paid parking near the beach or you need to try your chances in the streets behind the buildings,
There is one parking with 2 hours free park . and after 2 hours the pays as I remember 2,00-2,30 was 11,5$ and every half hour the charge raise .
There is a playing area for kids as well

  7. Steven Z says:

Taking a ferry to Manly is a delightful way to travel, and there’s a special vibe to Manly’s beaches in early autumn.
Next to the swimming pool at the northern end of the beach, you can climb up a small cliff. At the very top, there’s a small cave ,which is a minor attraction. It’s not particularly magical, but worth checking out.

  8. Firoz Alam says:

Beautiful place to spend time. A really beautiful beach to pay a visit to. 🌊 …

  9. Nerine Cummins says:

Manly Beach is situated among the Northern Beaches of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. The three main sections of the beach are from North to South, Queenscliff, North Steyne and South Steyne.
A really beautiful beach to pay a visit to. I came on the Ferry from Circular Quay which just adds to the day in my opinion. You can’t beat a ferry ride on the Sydney Harbour. The walk from the wharf to the beach is great too and there’s several places you can have an ice cream or gelato and you can’t beat the selection of places to have a nice lunch. You can also get takeout and eat at one of many tables along the beach. There’s good toilet facilities also. Just sit and people watch.
The beach was named by Captain Arthur Phillip for the indigenous people living there.
Definitely a spot to visit in Sydney.

  10. Ahmed Metwally says:

Easy to come here from Sydney via ferry ride. Nice place to chill, enjoy sunrise/sunset or surf. Bit rough to swim especially for kids. Lots of food shops & retailers nearby. Loved my time there.

  11. Zella Keiko Bawr says:

Manly Beach is a popular destination known for its beautiful beaches, great surf, and lively atmosphere. However, on my recent visit, I noticed that the town itself was a bit dirty and littered in some areas. Despite this, the beach itself was clean and the water was clear and inviting. The promenade is a great spot for a walk or a run, and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. The surf was great and the people were friendly and welcoming. Overall, I still enjoyed my time at Manly Beach but it would be better if the town is kept cleaner for the visitors.

  12. Bonnie Wong says:

Beautiful beaches great for surfing. The main Manly Beach is manned by numerous lifeguards, but the Small Manly isn’t. Even though it was a lot calmer with little waves, we saw someone drowned as we were there so be careful. All the beaches are packed with a simple walkway connecting the few beaches along the way.

  13. Kai Chow says:

Very attractive sceneries. High atmosphere with a lot of shops, including pharmacies, supermarkets, banks, etc. Ferry wharf for public transport use.

  14. Jaskeerat Singh Modi says:

Great for surfing and a swim on any day of the week with great public transport connectivity and great cafes near the beach

  15. 62totheworld says:

I have always love Manly , for me better than Bondi.. ooooppss sorry.. Bondi always crowded and full of people Manly not. Also to go by public transport is easier. Hop on into the ferry at Circular quays wharf for 20minutes each and that’s it. There are many shops , restaurants and nice walk paths.

  16. Lachlan Irwin says:

If you’re visiting Sydney for a short time a visit to Manly beach by ferry is a must. You kill many more than 2 birds with 1 trip.
Great views of the sydney harbour bridge, opera house and the iconic harbour.
Get to manly and you have the choice of fantastic restaurants and cafes. You can swim at your choice of surf or chilled beaches.
Definitely a must for a short or long visit to Sydney
