13 Reviews to Mindil Beach, Northern Territory

  1. Angela Robbers says:

Fine red brown established sand dunes. Sunsets framed by tree trunks as the sun sinks into the vast ocean.
Vibrant market with many flavours, clothing stalls with fantastic printed designs & a natural mosquito repellent cream on offer.

  2. Jacqueline Stephen says:

Loved this beach, although it is currently being tended to by the local municipality. It is a very lively spot for watching the sunset, and it can get especially busy on nights that the night market is open (Mindil Beach Night Market). It is well worth spending a few hours there at sunset taking it all in. Lovely views, and it is a place that seems to draw the crowds and bring people together. Bring a towel, blanket, or chairs to rest and enjoy the sunset. There are also some seashells around, and the sand is soft. The area is well kept and clean.

  3. Machlooper says:

Absolutely a must to see the stunning Darwin sunset and also airshow during exercise
    Pitch Black.

  4. Marion Smith says:

Great place to watch the sunset over the ocean and to walk your dogs 🐕 off leash.

If you don’t like crowds, don’t go on the nights the markets are on. You also can not take your dogs to the markets, and they must be on leash on market nights.

  5. Stuart A says:

Recommend going there at sunset for some of the most beautiful sunset views you will see.
Also go there when the markets are on, there’s heaps of great stalls and tasty food available

  6. Bhawna Pathik says:

The place is awesome and the sunset view amazing. We went during the mindle market and had few food to eat. My son enjoyed the beach and playground

  7. Nea Barabea says:

I love Mindil Beach! The markets are on Thursdays and Sundays! The food at the stalls is absolutely delicious! Pork, kebab, little pancakes, donuts.. Whatever you’ll take will taste great! My favourite is Pickled octopus!

  8. Ahmad Obeid says:

    Nice sunset viewing
but you can’t swim here because of salt water crocodiles.

  9. Kimberly Hogan says:

This beach is a Surf Lifesaving patrolled beach, safe to swim only in lifesavers/life guards are on duty.

Beautiful place in Darwin. It was nice to see the markets and do something different.

  10. AC says:

A night when the Market is NOT on can be unbelievably amazing! Check the weather forecast for a clear night with no or minimal clouds and enjoy!!!

  11. 4chillies says:

Mindil Beach is a beautiful beach that gets very crowded at sunset as people flock to the beach to watch and sun go down and catch a beautiful Darwin sunset. At certain times of the year there is a market just back from the beach with food, craft, jewellery and other stall. A great way to spend a balmy night.

  12. PhotoCoffee Warnbro - Café Mead says:

Superb Markets Thursday & Sunday in the Dry Season – must visit if in town!!

  13. Ani Devi Ariyanti says:

Every thursday and sunday afternoon, there’s night market. You can buy many delicious food here while watching the sunset. My favorite food stall is chicken satay with peanut sauce. Come here when Darwin birthday, the firework is amazing (much longer in time than in opera house sydney).

P.s: watch out the crocodile, do not swim.
